After three days of rain totalling 36.75mils which we praise God for. We picked from the garden the next lot of Broccoli, cabbage, silverbeet, bok choi, yet another tomato(amazing considering the lateness of the season the plant has been burnt near to death with the frost.Lastly to my supprise being a novice in the garden, we had some plants which I didn't know what they where, I was thinking mybe brussels sprouts, low and behold they where cauliflowers and one was ready to pick.

We have harvested the first of our Broccoli it was very nice, we still have enough for a couple of meals, it is so good to be able to go out into the garden a just pick whatever you need for both salads and soups. On the weekend we put another 3 Rosters into the fridge, that makes close to 15 so far this year. We are about to place our annual bulk order for Nuts, Grains, Seeds, legums and treats. This is a very economic way of buying even with the freight added.

On the weekend we bought 1/2 a pig from a local farmer. It was the best tasting and tender pork I've had in a long time much better than that bought in the supermaket or butcher.

We have dairy goats
1 Toggenburg doe
1 Saanen doe
2 Australian Melaan does,1 buck
4 Anglo-Nubian does, 1 buck
We found that when we joined the Australian Dairy Goat Society, and registered the animals We where able to increase our selling price to up to $450.00 AUD per goat.
At the moment Robbie is making soft cheeses (Ricotta, Cream, Fetta and mozzarella)plus yogurt from the goats milk we have managed to wean the youngest children onto the milk. If we can get a small fridge we will attempt hard cheeses.
We will attempt to milk the cows soon they have not been to co-oprative to date. We keep dexter because they are a good duel purpose animal and you can keep more and they are not so bad on the fences and the meat is superb.
We keep damara sheep because of the dry conditions so far we have had only one lamb but we prasie the Lord for the blessing.
